Artists and Training are needed onsite from 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM on camp days.

Rising 7th-12th graders can participate in the Artist in Training program. In addition to receiving training and serving as counselors for Highwood's Art Squared camp, Artists in Training get to choose one or two specific areas (see class listings below) and serve as apprentices to the Artists teaching those specific classes.
This is not only a fantastic opportunity for older students to work with kids and gain experience with teaching, but students also get to join a professional artist in planning and teaching a class. The rewards are endless, from new skills and leadership experience, to the admiration of the campers around you!
Once registered, Artists in Training are contacted about scheduling an interview with Highwood Summer Camp Staff. All students who sign up are accepted in the program, interviews simply inform camp staff about the best placement for each student. Artists in Training then attend an orientation/training session on Saturday, June 23 from 1:00 - 2:30 PM OR Saturday, July 14 from 1:00 - 2:30 PM (training day must be before your chosen Session(s). If you are unavailable for either session, please contact us.
Note: We cap the number of teens who can work in the program, so register early!
