Winter Class

Shakespeare Production
The winter segment of our Home School Class will focus on rehearsing and producing the Shakespearean story compiled in the fall, and will culminate in a final production.  Students in this segment will rehearse for and then perform a full-scale production of their Shakespeare piece (with Shakespeare's actual words), along with learning stage combat techniques and all about culture and dress (costumes) in Shakespeare's times.  Leadership positions are also available for older students interested in stage managing and assistant directing.

Spring Class

Shakespeare's Villains
After performing in the winter, we all need a fun break, and what better than to delve into the lives of Shakespeare's Villains.  We'll explore the stories around some of the great villains in Shakespeare's work.  We'll also explore some Shakespearean stage combat techniques and put them to good use when acting out our villainous scenes.  By the end of the class, you'll get to adapt your own Super-Shakespeare Villain and write your own dramatic monologue in Shakespearean style.

Home School Classes

Home School classes are open to all interested students in the specified grades.  The only prerequisite is a desire to learn, explore, meet new people, and collaborate!

Classes meet once a week for eight or ten weeks, and are focused on different developing educational, collaborative, and theatre performance skills.  Students work together with instructors that specialize in their field, and are often coached by other performing professionals.  Members are consistently challenged and inspired to take risks, do their best, and develop as confident collaborators and creators.  Most classes culminate in a final showcase performance, and students are often able to take advantage of additional performance opportunities as they arise.

Classes take place on Fridays beginning at 12:00 PM.

Fall Class

Living Shakespeare

Living Shakespeare makes its much-anticipated return.  The class will focus on learning all about Shakespeare, his stories, and characters, then we will compile Shakespeare scenes to create a new story! Through our unique, hands-on class, students will actively explore the world of Shakespeare and bring his classic plays into the modern world. Read and act out some of Shakespeare's greatest scenes and monologues, learn the stories behind his works, and then collaborate in the creation of a new Shakespeare story (until his original language). This class culminates in a final showcase, and is strongly encouraged for those who also wish to enroll in the winter/spring classes.
