HOW YOU CAN HELP
#HighwoodCompany

The Highwood Theatre depends on you to help us expand our participant base and our programs, especially as we establish a presence in our new Silver Spring neighborhood.  We really appreciate everything that you do!

The program you receive at Will Call is your ticket.

Brian Coyne was the kid in school who was always drawing instead of listening to his teacher.  After college and a brief stint in the stock broker business, he returned to teach art at his old school, The Heights in Potomac MD.  Now Brian is bringing his 14 years of experience teaching art to The Griffin Art Center where he creates fun classes and programs of traditional art  and substance for kids, teens and adults.  Brian works mostly in oil, water color, pencil and pastel.  His works have been selected in such recent shows at the Strathmore Mansion “Celebration” member show, the Rockville Art League member show and the Corcoran Gallery in Washington, D.C.  Brian studied art at the University of Dallas, The Corcoran School of Art and the Yellow Barn Studio and Gallery. Brian also plays guitar and writes his own music and performs live shows in the D.C. area. To see Brian's paintings and hear his music please visit www.briancoyne.net. "Jazzaret" (pron.: Jazz-uh-ray"): An interplay of jazz and cabaret genres, vocally interpreted through the music of jazz icon pianist/composer Bill Evans, this multi media production delves into the introspective and complex life of one of the most influential jazz composers, presented on a rare vocal landscape.  Returning to the infamous Village Vanguard in 1961, musicians portray the iconic trio through sights, sounds and words. This production is a shortened version of a larger work written by LeeAnet Noble, based on the music of Bill Evans. It is a short, fictional look inside his mind based on real events and interviews. Featuring Harry AppelmanL’Tanya Mari’, Leland Nakamura and Steve Zerlin.

Though he is only 19 years of age, Donnie Sengstack is making a name for himself in the world of comedy. His unique witty style of comedy appeals to generations young and old. He may have a stutter, but that takes nothing away from his strong delivery and stage presence. It is simply another tool in his comedic arsenal. When he was just 18 years old he became a finalist in the Magooby’s Joke House New Comedian of the year competition. He came in 3rd place in DC’s March Madness of Comedy 2014. Donnie has been featured in Baltimore Magazine and The Washington Post for his standup. In 2014, He performed in front of over 900 people at The National Stuttering Association’s Annual Conference.
